Ryan spoke with a large number of residents in the Centrepointe area in the past week as part of his campaign for the Conservative nomination in Ottawa West-Nepean. Top issues raised by residents remained affordability, housing, immigration and the environment. 

Concerns were raised by many residents regarding the Israel-HAMAS conflict in Gaza, the resumption of Canadian funding to the UNRWA and a recent NDP motion tabled in Parliament. Members of the Jewish community were very concerned about the increase in anti-Semitism in Canada citing instances outside schools, businesses, hospitals, places of worship and homes - including some incidents here in Nepean. Ryan reiterated his support for the Jewish community, his opposition to the NDP motion and his concern about a global increase in anti-Semitism. On foreign policy, he pointed out that the Government of Canada continues to support Israel's democratic right to defend itself, its support for Palestinian self-determination and its opposition to terrorism.
