Impact of foreign conflicts in Nepean

Ryan attended a discussion this week at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute on the implications of conflict in the Middle East.

Impact of foreign conflicts in Nepean

The keynote speaker, an academic and former Israeli diplomat, provided an excellent presentation examining the implications of the current Israel-Gaza conflict on the Abraham Accords peace process, relations between regional states, the impact of Ansarallah (Houthi) attacks targeting shipping in the Red Sea, and the spillover economic impacts on the global economy.

Ryan was able to offer thoughts on the trajectory of radicalization to violence resulting from the conflict, the worrying global increase in anti-Semitism and the negative impacts on Western states -  trends that directly impact communities here in Ottawa West-Nepean.

He also had a chance to meet a number of Parliamentarians, diplomats, academics and other officials attending the event.

Special thanks to MLI Senior Fellow Alex Dalziel for organizing the discussion.
